Frederick at Simeon, apparently.

The Flour Co. Bakeshop will be in a former corner convenience store at Frederick and Simion.  Ambrosia Corner Bakery is just a couple of blocks away but I don't think they have to worry about the new bakeshop since Flour Co. will specialize in cakes for weddings, special occasions, etc.

This place that was mentioned a while ago is opening Sunday near Queen station. It is indeed a "speakeasy" themed Rum and Tapas bar. Appearantly to get in, you need a "password" (look on Facebook and/or Instagram). Not the cheapest prices, but I did get a sneak peak of the place a few weeks ago and it seems like an interesting idea.

Website is https://sugarrun.ca/. It's also only opened evenings.
According to The Record, the mid-week Kitchener Market was a hit and they'll do it again in 2020: https://www.therecord.com/news-story/953...n-in-2020/

In other market news, I noticed signs along the Iron Horse Trail saying the Belmont Market is on again this summer, 11:30 AM - 5 PM on Thursdays. Their social media went dark in 2017 so I didn't realize it was still happening.
That's great that they'll do it again next year. Hopefully eventually full time
Hopefully more than just 4 weeks' worth next time.

Where exactly is the Belmont Market? I remember hearing about it, but never went.

I thought the Uptown Waterloo Thursday market was great, at least a few years ago; it's good that there's still an option that day.
The Belmont Market (last time I went, which was a couple years ago) was a few tables in front of the Red Door Salon on Claremont. I haven't been in a while because the 5 PM end time isn't conducive to people with with full time employment.
That would be my issue, too, but it might happen some time this summer.

The town square was great in that respect, open until after 7pm.

From Facebook: Belmont Village Weekly Fresh Market
"The Belmont VIllage Fresh Market will be operating every Thursday from noon to 5:30 on the corner of Belmont Ave and Claremont Ave beside Camerons Flower Shop!"
The signs along the IHT, as well as the "upcoming dates" on their Facebook page, all say the market ends at 5. I think they used to run until 5:30 so that description may be old.
There was a Latin dancing night at Waterloo Public Square this evening. I think it's been happening every Wednesday for a little while.

It looked like around 50 people were dancing when I came through, with lots more watching from the amphitheatre.
I didn't realize that's a regular thing, but I stumbled across it a month or so ago as well. It was an awesome vibe in the square with people milling around, music, people dancing, and beautiful weather. In general, I have to give credit to the designers of the square - it might not be perfect, but it seems well used as a congregation point.

I made it out to Sugar Run this evening and was quite impressed. Had a number of top notch cocktails (4 of 5 were excellent), and the ambiance was great. If you don't mind the prices, I highly recommend checking it out. I'd say it's alongside Grand Trunk and Loloan for best cocktails in KW.

As a part of the speakeasy theme it is hidden, with a door from an alley with nothing but their logo on it and a doorbell. You then have to give the password to get in. The hints are on their Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/p/BzvbTnfAeTD/ .

A hint for those who don’t use Instagram would be a kindness.
