According to The Record, it's a South Beach themed bar. The article interviews Giuseppe Barranca as one of the business partners behind it, and he's also co-owner of Vita Lounge and Bistro where Fork & Cork used to be in Kitchener. It doesn't mention that he's been ticketed for his involvement in recent anti-lockdown rallies in Waterloo.

That would seem to be relevant information.

I'd like to know if the owner/operator of a restaurant would consider eating at has a record of intentionally, confidently and outspokenly violating public health regulations.

It's kind of really relevant even without a pandemic.

Indeed. Who are those public health inspectors to tell me I have to refrigerate my poultry? Salmonella is just Nature’s way of strengthening our immune systems!

And somebody irrational enough to do something at a rally that would lead to being ticketed (not just being there expressing their opinion) is probably irrational enough to get into a crazy dispute with a customer over a bill. Avoid.
Debrodnik's Donuts has been spotted supporting the anti-lockdown Trinity Bible Chapel on social media (see https://i.redd.it/gse3bo1jb3271.jpg ) and various people are proceeding to swear off purchasing from them in future...

Oh Geez....that's disappointing...but ultimately, probably best for my health lol.
Honestly, I think expressing empathy toward someone being locked out of their facilities is different than going and speaking at anti-lockdown rallies like the Innocente guy.
Nah...the owners have always been like this. They were saying some anti-mask BS last year.
It was measured anti-mask statements though. They didn't want to have to be the enforcement arm for masking which seems somewhat reasonable. I didn't see any covid denialism or pretending that masks don't work. The new stuff though is another piece of evidence and I find it disturbing.

While I agree what they did is not the same as speaking at the anti-masker rallies, I think you are minimizing by saying they are "expressing empathy toward someone being locked out of their facilities".

They are explicitly expressing empathy about a church which has been locked due to their consistent illegal and dangerous behaviour, which is continuing to, in the very comment they are expressing support of, spread it's pro-disease and death message.

And that's leaving aside the fact that they are supporting a particularly questionable group in our community, even outside of the pandemic.
Exactly. It's like trying to downplay a white person for not wanting to have black people drink out of their drinking fountains. Some people are obviously scum bags - don't try to apologize for them! At this point, anyone trying to sympathize with TBC or anyone giving them support is as bad as they are. Fight against the hatred and stupidity or join it. Real human lives are at cost here, not just some abstract concept of "they still need the freedumb to be dumb, let them do what they want".

Good analogy! Some things just aren’t OK. The one thing I’ll give Debrodnik’s is that the sequence of emoji is kind of ambiguous. But combined with other information it doesn’t look good.

My favourite (not favourite) thing about the TBC situation is their whining about how they can’t even get into the building to record a sermon. Guess what, my church doesn’t have that problem! Why? Because they live in reality and stopped meeting in person in March of 2020.

As to masks, I’ll be honest, I hate wearing them. But I also know that they are an important public health measure and I know that I have to do my bit.

This is on point. I hate wearing sunscreen...I still slather it on at the beach. If there's one thing that a whole lot of grown ass adults in our society were supposed to learn is that there's lots of things you don't like to do, but still have to do. Throwing a tantrum about that is for children.
The Kitchener Market has added a craft-brewer stall in the indoor market area. This week was Royal City but apparently the vendors will rotate through the summer. Great to be able to pick up local brews at non-marked-up prices during the weekly market run.

That's awesome news! I didn't go this Saturday but I'll have to go next weekend.

Is there a published schedule of who will be there which week?
