Interesting that it is billed as completely different and unrecognizable, and yet their goal is good but affordable food and craft beers. Short on details, this seems to be barking up Imbibe's tree, so far.

Where is it billed as completely different and unrecognizable?   The new operation will need to differentiate itself from TWH Social and the upcoming Berlin, as well as the future Imbibe if it's located nearby (as has been rumoured), but the change was only motivated by THEMUSEUM'S need to charge market rent, not because there was a problem with Imbibe's food/drink/atmosphere.

"When selecting a new partner, we were committed to selecting a business that would operate successfully – featuring the creativity of craft beers and great affordable food,” said CEO of THEMUSEUM David Marskell in a statement issued earlier this morning.
...
When asked if there is concern about Imbibe’s loyal following responding to the new bar, Marskell shared no apprehension. “I am one hundred percent positive that the Bruce will resonate with lots of visitors from within THEMUSEUM and attract young professionals,” he says. “They have big plans, people won’t recognize space, it will be transformed.
There is a new sign up in the window of the former Northstar Travel in Belmont Village. The Berlin Bicycle Cafe will occupy this space eventually.

Nice! I've been wondering where they were going to be located.

That's a great use for that space. Hopefully the hours are more accessible to those wanting to be out in the evenings and on the weekend.

Belmont Village is such a nice area for it to shut down at 5 every night.
Great, it will be nice to see a coffee shop in Belmont.   Seems like a good location!

Hopefully it will help get some people out on the street in Belmont Village.
Exclaimation! Restaurant appears to be expanding to a second location in Northdale. Their first being at Duke/Frederick.

It looks like the empty Baton Rouge will reopen in the fall as Wildfire Steak House, which has restaurants in Toronto and Oshawa.  Hopefully, they'll have a better run than the last tenant.  I can't help but think that with King St. closing after Christmas, they'll be putting themselves behind the 8 ball way too soon to survive.  I hope otherwise, but I have to say I'm skeptical.
It all depends on having proper plan and funding. I they're planning their cash flow based on the initial closure, and are properly funded, they can build their business more slowly (with a smaller staff etc) and then grow after the street is open again.

If it's just "hey, it would be cool to open a restaurant there" the chances will be much worse.

Fantastic!  I'm hoping we see more places like this in Northdale in an attempt at making it a more "complete" community.
I believe I saw a worker yesterday, taking down the letters for The Fox and The Fiddle at King and Bridgeport, as well as the For Lease signs. Might be leased now, might have a liquor license application.

It would be quite weird to see that place as something other than a bar.  Been one for as long as I can remember.
The Hacienda Cafe in the Reading Room of the KPL is now open.

Work is underway for a new place in the DFB spot formerly occupied by Cheeses Murphy.  I'm not sure what they'll offer - there is a popcorn machine set up on the counter.
