Heard through the grapevine that Nando's has finally opened on Fairway Rd.

I've yet to see anyone in there, I've been riding by it for a week and in the evening there are two or three staff members behind the counter and an empty restaurant...
Article about Nougat's new location, interesting that their old location is being retained for production and administration.

This will allow them to become accessible without the need to transfer the baking equipment.  I wonder if they'll have a small oven at the new site to make sure that there is a fresh baking smell.
Stumbled on the soft opening of San Francisco Panini in downtown Kitchener this evening. Have never been to any other other branches before. My panini (eggplant) was great! I also really liked the wood/brick interior design of the place.

They are ramping up to a full menu over the next couple of weeks so they only had paninis at the moment. Definitely will be going back.

My understanding from asking at the store was that the original location was sold for redevelopment. So I'm guessing it's only temporarily being used for production and administration.

(Also, they seem to do most of the baking at night, so the fresh baking smell isn't there to entice customers when they're around.)
Tried Nandos on Monday. The concept is like a hybrid sit down/fast food. You order from the register and pre pay for everything but they serve you at your table and you do have to wait to be seated. I ended up getting the breast and wing with one side made with extra hot Peri Peri sauce.
Flavour was delicious.
Price comparable to Swiss chalet.
Chicken Portion was more realistic but smaller than S/C but did seem small.
I really like that you can take bottles of the sauce to the table, I often buy their sauce at the grocery store so the amount I used at the table was probably worth a couple of bucks.

I will definitely return and will be putting nandos in my rotation.
Can you do takeout too?

Most definitely.
Easy Earthen Restaurant is now closed. "For Lease" signs in the windows.

(Babylon, across the street, is now definitely open.)
Mucho Buritto is opening in Waterloo there opening in the Phil's plaza. In the old Pizza Maniac.
Does anyone know what is above PizzaPizza on the corner of King (185) and Gaukel (91) across from city hall? Back in the day it was some kind of nightclub (the bank?). When I was back home visiting at Christmas, I saw a poster on the door, but couldn't tell how old/recent it was. I always thought this would be a great space, but it has almost always sat vacant... any insights here?
It was at one point home to Club Renaissance.
