Starbucks downtown seems to be coming along pretty quickly. I peeked in the open door today and it looks like they are painting and there was some furniture inside.

1) It breaks the street wall

2) Adds no new density

3)  Average at best architecture

I believe this new build is only meant to be a 10-15 year max build and will be replaced by greater density when that whole block goes into higher/more density builds. IT is almost like a throw away build. Make money now on retail but much more on real estate ... location, location, location

Is there an anticipated move in date?

The sign says May 2019, so they've got about two weeks to get it done. It looks to me like it'll actually be an early June opening though.

They had equipment and some inventory on the shelves yesterday already, so I think an end-of-May opening date is feasible.

There was someone giving out samples in front if the building today. I didn't stop so I'm not sure if they were saying what day is opening day.

I asked: opening on Thursday.
I have not been in the new LCBO but it always seemed very short sighted/impromptu.

That's a really fast turnaround good for them .
Starbucks is definitely looking ready to open. Fears of a drop ceiling appear to have been unwarranted. Sure looks different from a week ago, I'm surprised how quickly it all came together.
