Good, they'd be more likely to redevelop at sometime... even if they aren't quite sure what street they own property on.

That's kinda hilarious. Hey, they got Westmount right. That's the important one.
Well, I guess it's a moot question now. What are the odds of this timing?

I am nostradamus!
It's not exactly "retail", but a tailor shop (Bonnie's) has opened at the Ontario St entrance to the Apollo Cinema. It is also a drop-off for Newtex Cleaners (3 days in/out), which means there is again a spot Downtown to take your drycleaning to. Open Monday to Friday.
A sign has gone up in the window of 10 King St E (former "Out of the Past") indicating that Legacy Greens will be opening a pop-up shop in that location (they start selling at the Kitchener Market this Saturday as well).  I am guessing that this must be the greengrocer that was reportedly interested in the former Imbibe space at THEMUSEUM.

Runner's Choice is going to be moving from their current location just north of King & University to 55 Erb St in the plaza with Dana Shortt Gourmet and Moksha Yoga. King & University is a high traffic area, but I expect that this new location will be better overall. There will be a better retail mix at 55 Erb, better parking and excellent trail access for running groups.

Amusing, but certainly accurate. It's definitely for a demographic that drives to somewhere to go running.

Interesting, as this will put them even closer to The Running Room, which has large groups of runners meeting up and heading out from this spot.
Would it make sense for that to be the green grocer? Would Marskell really be confidently extolling that bid in the media if it was just for a pop up shop?
Sanction, in UpTown, has been evicted, due to non-payment of $45,000+ in rent, so posted on their front window.

Well, it could of course be two different concerns, but it seems quite a coincidence.  In any event, I can't wait for the pop up shop to open and I will definitely plan to support them with my purchases.
Music Plus relocated their showroom some weeks ago from the old factory on Michael St into the multi-use building at Ottawa and Charles St.  If I recall correctly, the Michael St building was being purchased for conversion to high tech offices.

$45K?  It seems that they weren't just a month or two behind in rent.  A patient landlord, methinks.
I noticed the other day that The Brick Brewing Co's new retail outlet in Kitchener is now open.
