Whoa, $45K, by my uneducated rough calc, that's a lot of leeway the landlord allowed them. Is that common practice? That mall seems busy enough that it should be a landlord's market and not the other way around.

Looking forward for checking out this store.
Framing + Art is moving into the former location of Cool Style at the north end of Belmont Village.

No advance notice of closure was posted at Cool Style that I saw. It was a fairly quick transition between the two.

Is it Framing + Art that's in the King St mall that will be the site of Kings Crossing proposal?
Google Streetview suggests you're correct.
Gloss in Downtown Kitchener has its closing sale on now - the store will close after Bluesfest, unfortunately.

My first thought too.

What other tenants are left?  Papa Johns?  LCBO?
Papa John's closed up all Canadian operations at least a year ago, if I recall. I think an independent pizza place took over their space? Not sure.

Papa John's didn't leave Canada, as far as I know it was just the Kitchener location that closed.
Some interesting changes at Sunrise.

Bulk Barn took advantage of an open unit to its left and relocated, with an entire new layout and look (incorporating their new branding). The empty Bulk Barn space is now yet another Dollarama.
Sunrise is looking a lot like the Boardwalk lately. Same ownership?
Yes, both are Voisin developments.
The Legacy Greens pop-up shop at 10 King St E is now open.  Modest selection of fresh, mostly local fruit and veg, a few packaged foods.  The owner, told me that still to come are a weekly fresh soup-in-a-jar (Wednesday's), frozen ices and ice-cream, and some local pasture-fed beef and pork.  Pricing seems fair - I noticed "Elmira's Own" grape tomatoes at $3.49 per box, which is 50 cents below what a well-known central supermarket sells them for.

This is something that merits support, should you find yourself downtown during the week.

I shall have to wander over there at lunchtime on Monday!  Maybe I can get some decent carrots instead of the monster ones sold by most supermarkets.

But this is good news for the downtown-dwellers, to be sure.
