I avoid malls like the plague so I haven't been to Conestoga for a very long time. Is there anything in the former Target space yet?
Spring rolls was always very busy when I was there, I wonder what happened. Between that and the old O&B space there will be a big empty hole in the side of the mall there now.
A couple of stores behind the restaurants inside the mall have also been cleared out. It's possible that they are making room for a larger tenant.

I really liked Spring Rolls, it always seemed busy.
No, Target is still boarded up at Conestoga.

At Cambridge Centre, their Target looks like a horror movie. Paint peeling from the outside of the building, doors shuttered, and they even painted the red concrete spheres out front black, just to really drive it home.
At least you no longer need to walk around it to reach the bus terminal (which has been moved to face Hespeler Road).

Jean Machine doesn't appear to be closing, not sure where you got that from. Not yet at least... Tongue
According to Conestoga Mall guest services the old Target space is going to be an extended hallway with multiple stores. Which kind of surprises me since there are quite a few vacant units in the mall now. Spring Rolls to go is still Open for business it's just the full size restaurant that's closed.

But said hallway will have no anchor at the end? Hmm.
... because brick & mortar (anchor/chain/big-box) retailers are losing money hand-over-fist and closing stores across North America. This might open the space for more independent retailers in Conestoga Mall, but I'd hate to see local businesses choose this mall over a more central location!

About time! If HBC doesn't want to open Saks on Fifth or Lord & Taylor, and Nordstrom or Simons passes on opening at Conestoga Mall no one else will. Target has been closed for 2 years now. Smart decision by Ivanhoe. More likely to lease out smaller spaces than a big anchor these days.
The very tired Sears at Fairview Park has just started a major renovation. I don't remember this store undergoing any changes for as long as I can remember. This is probably part of Sears rebranding and image change to try to stay alive.
Interior or exterior? I kind of like the exterior the way it is.
Interior and likely only the interior. When they recently redid Stone Road Mall's location they left the outside as it was.
The interior could use it. It has had work done, but it's been a while.
The basic architecture is sound, though, and that design pattern is distinctive and unique to the area. I would be very upset if it were to be seriously altered.
