Noticed today that the empty lot beside Morty's Pub has sold.

No.  Or not yet.  Still a chance for no.

Yes.  It's definitely not 1986 any more.

Pretty soon, V1 Green will be the only open space left...
Thankfully, the Laurel Creek floodplain limits how close construction can happen to the creek. The Affiliated (aka Church) colleges and univerisities have more or less maxed out their footprints. The only reason that the Health Services addition was allowed was because it was a renovation of the existing building.
The new central corridor through UW has had a lot of progress. The central path part should be complete in time for classes in September. I'm not sure what that trapezoid is.

Outdoor lecture/seating space?

It looks like a phased approach to what was in the last campus master plan (2009).

The request for pre-qualification has already closed and the contract is expected to be awarded in spring of 2016 with construction completed during summer of 2016.

Also, the campus master plan is on the agenda for the board of governors building and properties committee for May of 2016,  but I think that is just an annual thing done every May or as needed and not the initiation of a full formal update.

From the previous page in this topic, with thanks to Pheidippides, you can find a site plan at the links above.  Contrary to some speculation on campus, this is not intended to be purpose-built goose breeding sanctuary.
Interesting proposal. Don't know how likely it is.

Major redevelopment proposed for WCI site

For the moment, a low probability of anything anytime soon about WCI, and likely not for another decade. There are too many variables (hence the studies) plus there would be the need for the school board to find a new place for 1500+ high school students in Waterloo.
In this proposal, WCI would stay on the site, but in a new building.

What's wrong with the existing building?

Well, it is 50 years old, and I'm sure it shows in the usability of the space.

But really it's about building an athletics facility and a performing arts centre (in the space that would be freed up) that would be shared with WLU and the city.
