If you count the podium we’re on the 13 floor.  Next week we move to the top floor on the Queen Street side.  Considering the hill and the podium it will equal 21 floors.  But I’ll still be able to take pics of the construction.

You're going to have some great views!

RE: Duke Tower Kitchener | 39 fl | U/C - jgsz - 02-27-2019

Work continues on DTK.  If you look closely you will see a canopy tent (white fabric so a bit hard to see) near the middle of the picture.   The way they are going on this project I thought the canopy tent is for the grand opening.

It looks like it's for keeping snow off a mitre saw(?).

Looks like a mixer for grout/mortar/cement.

The canopy tent is now covered on the sides by that orange plastic beside the canopy.

Keeps the dust from blowing everywhere, a lot of that stuff causes silicosis if inhaled... usually the mixers are in a dust mask with a face shield on. At least that's the setup anytime I'm around brickies.

But what would they be using it for right now? Isn't it just excavation?

No idea but that pallet beside the tent is probably bags of whatever they are mixing up.

I wonder if they put a thin layer of mortar between some of the wood ties in the retaining wall.
