Sounds promising, looking forward to the renders.

I just checked. It is now 92 up votes and 313 down votes. I hope this knowledge uplifts your faith in humanity somewhat Wink

Just astonishing, although I shouldn't be surprised

In case anyone is not aware, a significant portion of the comments in the Record are posted by a handful of "regulars" who, shall be say, are not the sort who let an absence of facts or understanding prevent them from having strong opinions.  There is also no limit on the number of times you can "thumb up" or "thumb down", so you get people giving multiple thumbs because, it would seem, they have nothing useful to do.

Seriously?  You can thumbs up/down multiple times?  I could go and give it 50,000 thumbs down, if I have enough spare time?

Yup.  and it is the same depressing people offering their uneducated opinion...  They want nothing to change and everything to go back too 1950.

I suspect they would find 1950 too "urban".  More like making everything like 1970s suburbia.

"...construction will not begin until late 2017."

Kind of a shame that construction won't get underway until after the Ion construction, but obviously pretty exciting that we will see plans soon. This is sounding like it will really be something positive.

I would guess that has to do with needing a certain number of pre-sales first

There's a render of this project up on SSP. Don't know if it's the real deal or not, but if it is, wow!

RE: King's Crossing | 12 fl | Proposed - modernizt - 01-06-2016

Looks awful to me. The massing makes no sense, the King Street frontage is brutal to the street, and it overwhelms the old funeral home building. Why the vehicular entry and servicing is placed along King Street is also questionable.

I think this is just an early "vision", and essentially nothing more than a rendering. Or at least I hope so.

RE: King's Crossing | 12 fl | Proposed - GtwoK - 01-06-2016

Practical, not so much, but definitely beautiful-looking! The idea of a retaining wall fronting King St is questionable.

But then again, this was the property with the design competition, was it not? This may only be one of the possible entries.

Meanwhile, their owners, the Toronto Star, just did away with comments on their website. I wonder if the Metroland papers will follow suit.
