I've always found the layout of those units really weird. Lack of natural light in spaces like the kitchen, a super tight living room that is hard to configure, etc... not the best when they are meant to be occupied by not only students at some point.

The location, marketing blurb and design look like they are fully intended to be only student housing. The image shown may pretend to be a on bedroom unit, but the dining area looks like it could be closed off to make a second bedroom.

For parents looking to provide housing for their child, the option of a roommate to offset costs would be attractive. Not to mention investment potential as a unit owner.

I can see grad students and other University people living there, not just undergrads.

A lot of the apartment buildings I've lived in are like this.  The priority is getting natural light in the living space and bedroom(s), and the kitchen is the loser in that situation.

This one is worse than some because the kitchen is hidden behind the back wall of the second bedroom, cough, den.  If they had swapped the positions of the living room and the second bedroom, the kitchen would have substantially more light.

If the condo suites are fully furnished, does the condo corp own the furniture? If so, where would it go if bedroom furniture is added?
I can imagine that this building would also be subject to the City's bedroom guidelines which would limit the conversion of existing non-bedroom space to bedroom space.

That's a good call.  I didn't catch that.  The light would definitely stream through.

There was a crane being erected on Sunview this morning. I believe it was for this project.
