Given that it's all rental, I expect that they are modulating the construction speed based on the rental demand.

I believe that 375 King Street North may still hold this prestigious title. If memory serves me correctly, this building took the better part of a decade to complete.

Precast construction now proceeding.

Interesting windows on the side. They look very 20th century industrial.

19th century industrial, actually.  Nice nod to what is now the Bread and Roses coop building at Queen and Courtland.  The original section was built in 1879, I think, although the really rounded windows are in the later addition, so I don't know if that is before or after 1900.

Some work on the crane today. Not sure what exactly they were doing, but seemed to be related to the trolley or hook.

Now the "fast" paced action has begun I've set up a temporary webcam so y'all can enjoy the show. It's (usually) accessible Mon-Fri 6am-6pm (to follow their rough work hours). Private message me for the password.

Will you be able to do a time-lapse? Smile

Not from this, but I've been taking a photo every few days with my proper camera since before the hole in the ground.

The precast has completely transformed the pace of this construction project.

It's the typical floor that has completely transformed the pace, not the precast specifically.  Precasters tend to take all the typical floors only but that's where the formwork guys could have been fast too...

Wow, huge difference. I wonder if we'll see precast become the norm more than the exception.

If it's cheaper then probably.
