Herb garden for Queen St Commons perhaps?

Wow! That is so cool!

But they would tell their employees that, unless the closure was imminent, wouldn't they?

pretty much and in 2-3 years close it down and point people down the street.

I looked in the 1 Victoria space yesterday, and I really don't think there is enough space to replace the current branch.  The TD space at King & Francis is much, much bigger.

While there are not many retail counters these days, they need office space for loans, investments etc.  But maybe moving part of the retail operation into 1 Victoria will allow ScotiaMcLeod to move into the current Scotiabank branch.  Just speculation, of course.

Maybe larger bank branches aren't as in demand as they used to be. Not everything can be moved online but there's still plenty that doesn't have to be done on-site anymore.

Looks like DTK is finally getting a decent sized grocery store. Any guess at where? Wink

Eatons?

RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - panamaniac - 06-20-2016

What's the source of the grocery store rumour?

RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - Elmira Guy - 06-20-2016

Good question! I'm on pins and needles.

RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - panamaniac - 06-20-2016

It's a good six months or more since the owner of the American Hotel block said he hoped to attract an urban supermarket to the corner of King and Queen.  I've seen no sign that Casper's is closing down however.

RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - panamaniac - 06-20-2016

Hey, maybe it's part of the big development at Charles and Gaukel!  insider? ... insider? ... Wink

RE: General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours - Elmira Guy - 06-20-2016

I would be surprised as well as there has been no recent hint that such a thing was happening. Would love to be wrong though.

I presume you mean Caper's right. Personally I like Casper's better. Smile It couldn't help but be a nicer place than the current dive.

Any other guesses? Here's a hint: https://twitter.com/TheCommunityEd/status/745056227634208769

Current rumour is the Budd's space, but it seems awfully soon for any signs to be up there, so I'm guessing another building has something in mind.
