The communications tower on top of 305 King came down today! A large crane removed it.

And the building looks much better for it!  Plus now there's nothing to stop Manulife from building a tower on the podium at Water and Charles!  Wink

I noticed that work being done today when I passed by the empty lot on King St and wondered what they might be up to in that part of the building. This renovation is really quite ambitious.

Lens, there is something strange going on with your latest uploads. They don't display completely in my browser (Firefox), and even then do so slowly. It looks like they are uploaded at 9 MP resolution -- did you do this the same way before?

Same here.

Yeah, Lens, could you at least "Insert Into Post" your images?
When they're just attached, the frame is all wrong. All I can see is a ridiculously tall strip of the left edge of the picture.

I only get the top left portion of the image because Chrome is trying to show it full size. At least I can right-click and 'show image in new tab', but it would be better to be able to see it in-thread.

Those were just quick shots from my phone. There's only one option for uploading on mobile unfortunately. They look fine on the mobile site so I'm not sure why they're looking so weird on the desktop version.

Just as Oracle acquires NetSuite.

Vanguard has bought the Schreiter Building at Gaukel and Charles. They will start renovations at 132 Queen St S (formerly Schlichters) in two weeks time. Now, will Schreiters Furniture move to Eaton Lofts, I wonder?

That's one major flaw in the mobile site.  I'll be honest though, I don't know if it's fixable.

CBC's report on the sale of the building indicates that Schreiters Furniture will relocate somewhere in the Downtown core, early in 2017.   Best bets for the new location would seem to me to be either the Eaton Lofts, or the Schlicter building that Vanguard will be renovating at 132 Queen S.
