City Cafe's Preston location to close.  That's a shame.

Does anyone have any info about local coffee roasters? I know of Smile Tiger and Contrabean, but am wondering what other options there might be locally. It occurred to me that instead of buying my coffee at the grocery store, I could be supporting local businesses instead (and also the Hydrocut!)

Nobody offering locally roasted beans at the Kitchener Market? That's an odd gap in the offerings.

They roast at Hacienda Sarria, I believe. I think they (used to?) supply Matter of Taste.

My work gets coffee in from Settlement Co.

Monigram in cambridge roasts their own as well, I believe

Aroma Cafe in the Atrium does their own roasting.

I think Cafe "O" sells unroasted beans to people who want to roast their own.

Two more that definitely roast their own coffee: Cafe Serrinia at the Kitchener Market and EcoCoffee in St. Jacobs. I think Matter of Taste roasts their own coffee, but not on site.

Cafe O  Inc 901 Victoria Street.    Victoria and river road. It is a great little place. They do their own roasting. They have great deserts too.

Anyone have any recommendations for where I can get some good steamed pork buns in the region? Preferably for takeout, but open to eat-in if that's my only option. The best I've ever had were from a vendor in St Lawrence Market, but lord knows I'm not driving to Toronto for pork buns Smile

O My Bakery at Phillip Square seemed to have a large variety of buns, but I must confess that I don't know much about what makes buns good or bad. I just needed carbs one day and it seemed to do the job.
