GO Transit
I think their "day pass" is not like GRT or the TTC. I believe if's all day on a certain run (e.g. Kitchener to Toronto) it's about the same as 2 fares

No, only automatic monthly fare capping. Very few people make more than one round-trip in a day on a GO corridor, hence why their "Day Pass" is really just a round-trip ticket priced at 2x single fare.

However, you will get a discount of $4.71 every time you make another trip, within 3 hours of beginning the first trip. This is intended as a transfer credit for trips involving train-bus or bus-bus connections (e.g. Kitchener - Square One - Union), but works for quick return trips as well (eg. Weston - Union - Weston)

Day Pass
A day pass gives you unlimited travel for one day between two specified fare zones. For example, if you want to make a return trip, then you buy a day pass. A day pass is:

Equivalent to buying two one-way fares within the same fare zone.
Valid on the day of purchase only; cannot be purchased in advance.

This is tickets only, not presto though

Just failed to take two GO buses today. Must be something about the weather. Google told me there was a 25C today to Square One but it never showed up. (I thought the express to Square One used to be Friday-only but the 4:10pm one now seems to be every day). Then I biked to Kitchener Charles and waited for the 30, and it also didn't show up. Not the best day to spend 30 minutes waiting for the bus.

I’m talking about a TTC day pass of course.

Widespread bus delays on Routes 24, 25 and 30 today due to the weather and resulting traffic conditions along the 401.

And you've posted in the GO Transit thread, which is what everyone thought you were talking about.

TTC will eventually eliminate the Day Pass and move to PRESTO daily capping, but with no set timeline.

Well that sucks. When I go to Toronto and know I'm going to be riding the transit system a fair bit I grab one instead of using presto.

Daily capping ensures that if you use a PRESTO, you can use it as many times as you want in a day and never be charged more than the price of an existing Day Pass. You'll be charged per each trip until the "daily cap" and then get unlimited free rides until end of the day.

Two lanes of the westbound 401 west of Hespeler were closed due to a collision this afternoon, so the drive back into town was hell. Google took me off the highway, but pretty much every detour possibility was backed up too. I'm guessing all the buses were stuck trying to get back into KW.

Strange. I didn’t see any discussion of how they gerrymander their model outputs to support whatever harebrained scheme the Minister or Mayor wants.

Does this mean that PRESTO card will soon have an option to be a card in a digital wallet on phones?

Everyone move to the back of the bus and we all get home faster.

That's in phase 2 of the plan laid out here:

Looks like they are looking at a feasibility study to connect go trains from Cambridge to Guelph then to Toronto.
