General Urban Kitchener Updates and Rumours
It's great to see. I particularly like the fact that the office spaces are spread throughout DTK, and not just concentrated in the far west end.

I thought these were going to be medical offices, but was pleasantly surprised to see them as high(er) end rentals. Great location if you work at GRH/Sun Life/Catalyst...

Really happy to see this - it's a beautiful old building that needs a little love! And not to fussed about a "skate-shop" + "BG Diamonds & Gold" being relocated for this.
Does it work to have a wine-bar located beside "The Wine Rack"?

Now we just need Shakedown Street (yes, I know, a DTK stoner institution) to relocate, and this block will be on it's way Wink

It's amazing how many retailers shakedown Street has outlasted

Cool project.  I really like structures like this. And ya, great location too.

It's ok. I'm not a fan of the Park Street facade, too dark and plain. I really wish they had added balconies to that side. It's good sensitive intensification though.

It would look nicer -- but the balconies would face a fairly busy street, and the back wall of the hospital. The opposite side is probably much more pleasant for actually using the balconies.

I'm hopeful that we might be able to add the Pearl Laundry building to the list soon.

Agreed. IMO 144 Park style townhomes would have looked better, especially considering the other nearby brick buildings (iE. the hospital) are of this reddish-brown brick.

Id love to see this happen more throughout the region.  But I have a massive soft spot for brownstone type buildings

Where is this?

It's on Queen Street, between Charles and Church, across from Northern Thai, beside Far Out Flicks. It's name ("Pearl Laundry Cleaners & Dyers") is in plaster on the building.

Ohhhh right. I really like that block (as a total aside)

Thanks!

Yeah, that block probably belongs in missed opportunities.
