Yeah, I've been meaning to do this for a while. Seems like a limitation for now is that you'll need to download Google Earth to use it — the web viewer's importing of files is very broken.

Yes, this data is non-extractable for very good reason! It's expensive to produce, using an intensive visual/LIDAR approach, and thus proprietary.

That much I understood — there were some GPU model extractors that allow you to rip geometry straight from the graphics card, but Google is clever enough that if they detect you using one, they revert to 2D view. Ah well!

Anyway, sorry to derail.

Here's my 10 minute attempt. Building was drawn at 40m * 45m and 160m tall. if there's other angles you would like to see or a change to dimensions, let me know.

Wow good job! That giant grey rectangular prism towers over everything as far as the eye can see! Will this building almost look out of place? Dare I say?

To be fair, that building also has a larger floor plate than the surrounding buildings. I realize that a taller building is likely to have that, but it doesn't have to, there are plenty of tall skinny towers in the world today, that might look....less...dominating on the skyline.

That looks crazy!  Can you add Charlie West since it's close and almost as tall?   Most towers around here lately have been about 10,000 sq ft per floor, or 30m x 30m.

This might be a little more realistic. 4 story podium and 21m*36m tower based on floor plans.

I think it would only be slightly twice the height as the Regency, which has 18 or 19 floors.

I'll drop the height to 127m based on comparables in this list:

If it does look out of place, I have a feeling it'll only be for a few years at the rate we're going

10m * 40m * 90m, please!

90m? Are we basing any of this off of developer released exterior dimensions? I assumed the modified one did. Don't forget, that location (Duke) is on a higher elevation of DTK correct? As compared to the Victoria/King area...

Would love to see this rendering with the 3 buildings at Garment St., Charlie West, DTK and Young Condos (assuming this one still moves forward). Heck, toss in the 3 buildings of Sixo (as they were originally announced).

^.^

Ack, I shouldn't have mentioned it, I didn't realize other people were going to do it instead! I was working on integrating every project currently under development in the region, trying to be as floor-plan accurate as possible

Would still like to see it!

No, I just want to see what it looks like rendered in those dimensions. I was inspired by the colour choice and general appearance.
