Com Dev buys Scottish microwave equipment maker

CAMBRIDGE — Com Dev International is building on its expertise and capacity in microwave technology through an acquisition in Scotland.

The Cambridge-based manufacturer of satellite equipment said Friday it will pay 12.8 pounds ($23.3 million) for MESL Microwave Ltd.

MESL, headquartered in Edinburgh, designs and makes microwave components and subsystems for the radar, communications, defence and aerospace industries.

Com Dev is being sold to Honeywell. It's ExactEarth subsidiary will be spun off as a stand-alone public company.
