If you don't mind the prices, I highly recommend checking it out. I'd say it's alongside Grand Trunk and Loloan for best cocktails in KW.

As a part of the speakeasy theme it is hidden, with a door from an alley with nothing but their logo on it and a doorbell. You then have to give the password to get in. The hints are on their Instagram, https://www.instagram.com/p/BzvbTnfAeTD/ .

A hint for those who don’t use Instagram would be a kindness.

There's an image of a classic-looking speakeasy with hostage-note style cut out letters that read "Who is Larry Johnson". The caption for the image reads:

"Across from the city’s oldest hotel where Capone once stayed and the Rhum Runner laid.
We may be hard to find but the parking is great!
Find our door tucked away and ask for the owner by name.
No one seems to know who he is for some reason....."

The "owner's name" they're looking for is actually Larry Johnson, hence the "No one seems to know who he is for some reason" paired with the question "Who is Larry Johnson". Don't know if the password has anything to do with the real owners, though Google tells me there is a Larry Johnson in Kitchener.

You don’t need to “use” Instagram to access the page in question, unless by “use” you include following a link that happens to end up on instagram.com.

So? Someone asked to bring the content here and it was trivial to help them. Why complain about it?

The story I was told was the two owners favorite basketball players were Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. So they compromised with Larry Johnson. (Who actually was also a basketball player)

Not particularly complaining, just pointing out that the link in question works whether or not you are logged in to Instagram. It’s not like it’s a private page or something.

Seen that the former Mother's pizza on King St East was getting a facelift. Anyone know what's planned here?

I saw on Instagram that the Wooden Boat Food Co at 20 Hurst Ave, which is open Thursday-Saturday only, is now sharing their space with a Filipino restaurant Rosel's Flavours For Life open Sunday - Tuesday. Great use of the location (which is right next to the Iron Horse Trail).

The food there is amazing at Wooden Boat.  If you haven't had it, try it, plus Short Finger Brewing is right there too !!!

Just realizing that Hurst is one of those streets I've probably driven past a hundred times over the years without noticing that it was there or that it had businesses on it. Must check these places out some day!

The best part is that when the ShortFinger taproom is open, you can order your food at Wooden Boat and then carry it next door to the taproom to have a beer with your dinner.
