General Food, Dining and Nightlife News

Up to now my canonical example was simply the fact that the zoning bylaw mentions “picture framing” as distinct from any other retail business. As if it is anybody’s business but mine and my customers whether picture framing is offered as a service at my otherwise legal retail establishment.

This is one of mu biggest beefs with city council. One minute they are not afraid to regulate whether a establishment can serve coffee or not, the next they let disasters go through because they couldn't possibly tell a developer to hire a better architect. There is simply no pattern to their governing, and frankly the results leave much to be desired.
