I'm sorry to hear this, but it doesn't surprise me. The food was excellent but the location was uninviting. Hopefully someone as talented as Jeff Ward will have no problem finding another location in which to ply his trade.
There's a clear disadvantage to not being on King St, but I think the facade was also a factor. Corrugated metal isn't inviting. When you're actually inside then the decor was fine, but on the outside it never looks like it's open. One would think that, for instance, Stonegate Bistro would have a much harder time due to location (but I've never been there).
It was interesting to read about the dropoff in clientele. I don't really know how this works. in particular how you get repeat customers versus people looking for novelty. Presumably repeat customers might be less put off by the metal front. On the other hand, it's still not very inviting as a spur-of-the-moment decision.
