Yes. Cakes, cupcakes, donuts, cookies etc. from browsing their Instagram.

When I first saw it I was hoping for a coffee shop with baked goods as it's closer to me than Hacienda or Smile Tiger.

Depending on how much floor space they've go, a couple of tables and a coffee machine seem like a nice idea.

So it looks like what I originally thought was LenJo Bakes is actually Mamma D's Delicious Eats in the right side unit and LenJo is in the left side unit.

Definitely going to walk over today or tomorrow and check them out.

This is definitely a new addition to downtown -- at least for a legal establishment.

'Cannabist'? I guess a play on 'Tobacconist'.

Is this a legal dispensary, or just a merch shop?

I'm a bit late to the party, but we do have an espresso machine (featuring single origin coffee from our neighbours at Smile Tiger) and baked goods available on Fridays from 8am to 6pm and Saturdays from 8am to 3pm!

We don't have any tables, but we do have a window bar with *6* seats! (Our occupancy is for 8, so that's basically our max!) We'd love to meet you!  Big Grin

This appears to be moving forward: there was a notice posted on the window from late April.

Wonder if they got any public complaints. I don't know that it would make any difference, as it has always been expected that there'd be a couple of weed shops in DTK.

I have seen the application for 73 King St W posted as well.

Can three shops be successful within a few hundred metres of each other, though? I don't know what the margins are on this business.

I had assumed that there would be at least two, but I could see three making a go of it.  All the retailers were at least scouting out DTK locations (along with locations close to the universities). I wonder if they’ll be “high-end” operations?  The good news, istm, is three storefronts that aren’t coffee shops  ...  Wink

Why shouldn’t the free market decide that?
