Perhaps not the trendiest places, I have been here several times in the past two years and I find it consistently great for the price. There is nowhere else in town I have found that has a great prime rib dinner for $21 and a honking big martini for $4.95.

The salad bar is nostaglic. The wood panelling, the view of the river, etc. This is a nice place to go.

I would also add there is a bit of history here. There are articles posted in the restaurant foyer that show this was the site of a casino at the beginning of the 20th century. Additionally, there was a rail stop here for the dozen or so trains that ran between Bridgeport and Berlin for the previous HRT(?) commuters.

"Casino" may not be used the same way we use it now. In times gone by it was also used in the names of some nightclubs, gambling or no gambling.

I believe this was the site of Riverside Park, which was a trolley park at the end of the Berlin and Bridgeport Electric Street Railway.

So it turns out there is a second Golf's Steakhouse in Regina Saskatchewan - complete with the same logo and all.
