I am hoping that Loblaws opens an east side Superstore.

Where do you think they could put one?

Lackner and Ottawa could be a great location, although there IS a Food Basics there right now. Ottawa is eventually supposed to be extended over the Grand River right?

Maybe Lackner and Victoria area? There's already a pretty well stocked Zehr's at Ottawa and River.

Somewhere on Victoria would make sense, given the growth/sprawl in Breslau.

I haven't been there, but the Victoria Street Market is a grocery store in that general vicinity. Does anyone have any experience with them?

Loblaws used to own the northeast corner of Fairway and Lackner, but sold it to the Waterloo Region District School Board.

This was probably a replacement site at one time for the Stanley Park Mall Zehrs, before Loblaws decided in about 2004 to completely renovate and expand the existing location rather than building new.

Has anyone tried this yet?

They can't touch the Ottawa St Zehrs!  It's my favourite one!  I really don't care for the Superstore - it is too big and has a confusing (to me) layout.

How many people live out in those Breslau suburbs, I wonder?

They can pry my underground parking from my cold, dead fingers!

1300 houses in the subdivision, so 4000 people is probably a reasonable estimate.

It is awesome for fresh meats, sausages and deli cuts. They will cut anything you want in all fresh meats. There is also a seafood outlet from Caudel's there.

Basic veggies and lots of fresh breads including many European varieties. A small supply of Euro types mustard, pickles and so on. It is a small footprint store.

Great sausages and varieties for barbeque season.
