Curious, what did they approve?

Are there restrictions in place? Design Guidelines could easily just be red tape further restricting affordable housing?

I haven't seen the actual design guidelines. But as I recall, they strongly encourage a greater percentage of affordable units, providing bonus points in the evaluation for more affordable units. The council really was very supportive of this project, specifically because of the affordable housing component.

Now, the proposals will end up being evaluated through a beauty contest so we'll have to wait and first see what is actually proposed, and then which one is selected.
