That's awesome- thanks! Friends of ours have this brand of car seat, for the specific reason that they have three children using seats and these were among the few that could fit three abreast in a normal car. They were positive about the seats, but didn't say they were manufactured in Waterloo. I know where we'll be looking for our next one.

The information I can find suggests that most or all of their products are made in China. Are you sure it is a manufacturing facility?

You will have to rely on it as 2nd hand information. I got this info from my wife who spoke to someone over the telephone who works at Diono. The person on the phone referred to their Waterloo location specifically as "our factory". I was lead to believe something by Diono was made there. It is an industrial type address.

Can't say 100% but it is believed to be reliable.

Alright, to clarify: My wife went today to Diono to discuss an issue with the car seat. It turns out this is a distribution centre and nothing is made there. False alarm. Apologies.

Cambridge Brass used to make residential plumbing fittings as well. I had been led to believe they were gone- I once opened up a leaky shower and removed a Cambridge Brass component. When I took it and took it to Home Hardware to find a replacement, the old timer considered it a novelty to see one of their parts. He told me they were gone, but I'm pleased to hear they have diversified and are still manufacturing here.

An article in today's Record give me a chance to give this thread a bump - B & R Custom Machining, in Cambridge ( http://www.bandrcustommachining.ca/ ), makes precision parts for the aerospace and metrology industries.

Although they are an importer/distributor rather than a manufacturer, I found this Record article on Cambridge company Blendtek Fine Ingredients http://www.blendtek.com/ to be very interesting. I had not heard of them previously.

Just heard of this company Virtek, they seem to create a wide array of manufacturing equipment, from their website :
