True. I always found the Hespeler location to be an eccentric choice. I gather that it's a pretty serious collection, so I hope something works out for them.

I think it was an attempt on the part of the city to reuse the Hespeler post office by any means possible. The museum was originally in Southworks; they were going to have to move around now anyway.

I'm surprised about the "no money has been raised" line. Does that mean that they asked for funds from public or private sources and no one responded, or did they not bother to ask as they were running out of energy as it was?

The City of Waterloo is planning a light themed art event called "Lumen", similar to Night/shift. They're actively looking for artists to submit proposals. A few additional details and the application form are available here.

When did the Art District Gallery open at 185 King St E? I don't recall seeing it there before.

I stopped in when I was in town a couple of weeks ago and the woman there said they had moved "recently".  It's worth a look inside from time to time.  The new Indian restaurant will be next door.
