Back to prepandemic trains per day, but September 2021 service that them got cut back in January 2022 had 2 more tpd K→T and 1 more T→K.
The new bus terminal at Bramalea GO Station is now open as of today, June 9. Board the #30 to Kitchener at platform 8.

Spiffy looking but the current lack of retail at Bramalea is terrible. I think it's in the plans but not there yet.

The work is ongoing and is supposed to be done this summer. It would be nice to have a coffee shop there.
There are some updates to the bus schedules for GO buses going between Waterloo Region and the GTA. Most notably is the return of the 25C. More info here: https://www.gotransit.com/en/trip-planni...le-changes

Sadly only 25C on weekends (as well as 25J to St Jacob's).
Speaking of the 25J, the site Transit Toronto took that bus from St Jacobs to Mississauga and filmed a timelapse video from the upper deck.

That timelapse really does make it clear just how much time is wasted running to stops all over.

And I'm not saying that it shouldn't make stops...but even leaving aside all the passenger's time (our time) just the time for extra labour and equipment would probably pay for the cost to actually build stations into the highway instead of a km away from the highway.

It really is revealing how little MTO cares or how unwilling/incompetent Metrolinx is to work together on these issues.

And this kind of thing isn't even on the radar of anyone in charge...nobody cares. They want trains (which is great, trains are great) but this is seriously low hanging fruit...

The GO bus has been getting slower and slower and slower since I've been taking it...
I took the Fllix Bus from downtown Kitchener to downtown Toronto last week. It's affordable and quick! I'll definitely be using it often

Is it departing downtown? Last time I looked at buses they were departing from Sportsworld...which was useless.

How many trips per day are they running now?

FWIW...I do plan on taking GO Train during my travels because it's easier to get on and off with a stroller, child, and luggage...even though it means I will be shamed for my baggage.

I've often seen the Flixbus parking in the bike lane on Seagram Dr near the LRT station near Laurier-Waterloo. One could argue that the bike lane should temporarily end there and Seagram isn't super busy, but I don't like the principle of it.

It is ONex Bus that stops at Sportsworld.

It departs from King and Victoria (right in front of the Round Table coffee shop). Trip took exactly 2 hours with a stop in Guelph. If nobody books a ticket to Guelph, it doesn't stop there so it's even quicker!

There are not a lot coming from KW to TO, but it's still a pretty great service/alternative when the train isn't running on the weekend. Best part is I was able to have a specific seat reserved. Remember when Greyhound would oversell and leave ppl stranded if the bus was full? Nightmare memories.

If it's anything like the Flixbus I'm used to in Europe...it's ALWAYS fast lol.

Fun fact, there's a Flixbus video game called Fernbus. Well, not an official Flixbus Simulator, but it's based off Flixbus, even down to the same buses. Worth a play if you happen to like transit simulation games, and if not, Squirrel has a Let's Play with 14 episodes to watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27OrwFVO...UEhQtvS4zK

Someone who knows UE4 ought to make a GO Transit Simulator next... You could drive a bus where you sit in traffic and get road rage at other drivers, or spend 2 hours in a train driving to Waterloo Region with no chance of speeding up even though you know you could.
