Here's a bunch of photos from the trail by the Wastewater Treatment Plant. You can click on the first one and scroll through.

Full disclosure:  Yes, I went past a barrier that said not to.  It's only at the South end; had I approached from the North, no such barrier or signage exists.  I felt that with the lack of response I was getting from the Region and the absolute absurdity of a 3+ year closure for a major trail, I was entitled (!) to check out what the hell was going on.
I love the Forwell Trail.

It's a gem of a trail. I like it because it only really goes up to Manulife so it's much quieter than the IH.
I believe the Forwell trail is near my place. Anywhere I can find a map of this trail?

Cheers
@elmira guy.

If you turn on the bike map on Google maps (hit the hamburger/"three lines" menu button). It has the forwell trail in detail.

Also it more or less connects Conestoga to uptown. Still quiet though.
Give this a try!

I'm now rather embarrassed (but not surprised) to note that I guess I've got the name wrong - in that particular spot, it's actually called the "Hillside Trail"!
Is it possible to edit Google Maps still? I notice the Kolb Greenway Trail extension to Rothsay Ave. isn't on there yet.

Sadly no, this is a major frustration I have, they eliminated the editing ability in return for a more restricted ability to edit destination information.

Frustrating given how inaccurate the map was before....and will become again.
The Laurel trail through Waterloo Park will be closing in a few weeks for 6 months:

Yet more double standard. They built a temporary parallel road to deal with the roundabout construction on Ottawa St. but in Waterloo Park they are apparently just closing the trail completely for six months. All alternate walking paths are significantly longer.

The closure is not even needed. They could have built the trail down the west side of the tracks, and the temporary route could go down there, across the tracks near the bridge, across the existing creek bridge, then back across the tracks to Father David Bauer. Then build everything except the approaches to the existing bridge, up to the two track crossings on either side. Then, after the new bridge is opened, pave the two bits used for the temporary path.

Alternately, they could strategically close and re-route different parts for much shorter periods of time. I can’t give a specific schedule for this because it would be much more work to figure out than the above plan. But overall, I consider this a big fail in transportation planning.
Yeah! I thought they were just doing the "Glowing Trail" part, behind the Perimeter Institute... but it looks like it's finally the entire section from Seagram to Erb/Caroline.

The timing is a little frustrating for me, with LRV testing and burn-in happening shortly for ion... but I've got other spots I can watch from.  So I'm fine with this. Smile

Are they really painting the cyclepath blue?  It would be great if they could standardize on one colour (like how all cyclepaths in the Netherlands are red).

This morning I explored the trails out behind R+T Park/OpenText a little more.  We have got some gems of trails in the Region!

They're very nice.  Although I do suspect those are HDR photos -- what say you, Iain?  Smile
Snapseed may have played a small part in that Wink I can't lug my dSLR around all the time... so sometimes the iPhone photos need a little help.
Right. Those clouds definitely look like they have had an HDR treatment! Smile
