Too bad! That would be super nice in a condo living room. Smile

You can buy these online and install yourself, I've been exploring them as acoustic (but visually nice) panels for my living space since I also film videos in it. They're around $150 per linear foot (assuming 8 foot ceilings) and you just screw the panel into the wall. Search for "acoustic wood slat wall".

Is that one condo's balcony?? If so, wow!

Most podium + tower style buildings end up with a few units that have massive balconies. There's one at Charlie West where the unit is 726 sq ft and the balcony is 871 sq ft. They're more expensive than other units of the same floor plan, but not by a massive amount. That unit was originally listed as a ~$70k premium at Charlie West, but was slow to sell so it may have been reduced. They generally don't change the interior layout, so it's not like a big penthouse unit, just a regular condo unit that happens to get a huge terrace. I think the fact that the entire building is looking down on your terrace really reduces their perceived value.

They also posted this photo - nice and big, but if anyone drops anything off their balcony above it’s ending up on your terrace

Yeah, I think you have to be a particular kind of person to be okay with that. The same reason people who previously had private backyards fight tooth and nail against apartments overlooking their yard.

Those are fair points @ against massive non-top floor terraces (those aren't ever on the top floors any wase). That being said, there are prob some buildings that pull it off better than this ie. I'm thinking if there is more of a row of straight balconies above perhaps hanging over more (not micro 50ft balconies where the person is basically draped over it when hanging out outside).

Current demo happening here as we speak. Building #2 (not closest to King). Didn’t get any pics though

Some progress on the front entrance (Wellington side) of Union Towers, with light posts and a bit of paving going in:

Not a fan of the bulkheaded in cabinets in the kitchen. When we renovated the kitchen in my last condo we deleted the bulkheads, they were completely empty but for a few inches of vent hood ducting, which we were easily able to change so that it worked without a bulkhead. So much less claustrophobic.

And, of course, cats much appreciate top cabinets without bulkheads!

Yeah, I also removed bulkheads from my cabinets during a reno. It was a bit of a mission because I had to put in new drywall and the mudding wasn't quite perfect. Did have to change some things with the hood (which previously wasn't venting outside) but got it done.

I love the lamp posts! Happy to see a few other elements from the renderings are appearing as well
