Manic Pizza was probably running on year-to-year leases, and the new landlord chose not to offer a renewal.

There is a render of a new building in the David Johnston Research + Technology park for the Centre for Sustainability Excellence in the latest edition of the Alternatives Journal.
It is supposed to open in 2018 ,but I think there is a typo though. I think it supposed to say 115,000 sq ft, not 115:

Nice. I wonder if these 2 parkettes will be the usual green with benches and trees or if they will go with something a bit more innovative for them.

Interestingly these are both corner lot combinations: 80 is at Hickory/Hemlock and 109 is at Hickory/Sunview. Is there some cunning plan at work here?

Cool. Can't see any of those facing strong opposition. Hopefully they interact well with the street fronts and look respectable. Such high standards for the University district.... I know.

36-42 University Ave E: This a premium location for student housing, only about 100m from WLU. Currently the property has fairly recent low-rise student apartments in a 5-bedroom configuration. A 7-story mid-rise building will probably have at least 3-4x the occupancy of the current property. It appears that NKL believes there is still opportunity in student housing, but hopefully they'll choose a more flexible layout than the 5-bedroom units.
175 Weber St N: This is on the edge of older suburban residential and the commercial strip on Weber St. Definitely not a (pleasantly) walkable location at the moment, and not so close to LRT, but maybe this will start nudging Weber St development in a more urban direction. Probably student-oriented again but hopefully flexible for other uses as well.
