So originally this was proposed to be 80 units, and now it's proposed to be just 30. Originally 12 floors, now just 6.

Does anyone know what project is being referred to in the following quote from The Record article?

With good windows, it should not be a problem. We don't hear the music, or emergency vehicles, or traffic, as long as we keep our windows and balcony door closed.

This is Downtown Kitchener, you know, a place trying to become a city. Noise is common and expected in cities, and many people actually enjoy it...

There's nothing wrong with installing good soundproofing.
Save the "downtown is loud, accept it" arguments for when people are trying to change downtown to not be loud!

Other than wrt the modern esthetic of the porposed design, I can't see this giving rise to much (more) controversy. I like that there will be office space at ground level.
