RE: 2021 Canada Summer Games - nms - 01-03-2017 If you ever want to figure out how the economic impact of an event is calculated, take a look at something like Ontario's Tourism Regional Economic Impact Model (TREIM). I have frequently used it with tourism related grant requests where supplying an estimate of my attraction's economic impact was required. RE: 2021 Canada Summer Games - rangersfan - 01-10-2017 Looks like Guelph has decided not to move forward with Waterloo Region in campaigning / hosting the event. RE: 2021 Canada Summer Games - UrbanCanoe - 01-26-2017 Time to start spreading the word and building excitement for our local bid for the 2021 Summer Games. A new website and social media have been launched ahead of a visit from the evaluation team on February 28. Further details are available at WeRally2021.ca. Other cities competing for the games are Ottawa, Niagara Region and Sudbury. Please join us, and our co-emcees Mandy Bujold and Mike Farwell, for a community rally at THEMUSEUM starting at 11:00am on Tuesday February 28th. The rally will take place in front of THEMUSEUM at 10 King Street in Downtown Kitchener. Volunteers will be handing out free toques, signs and noise makers to help you make a big impact. A free lunch, compliments of Piller’s Fine Foods and Weston Bakeries will be served following the formal remarks and special presentation. Food and supplies are limited to the first 650 people. A special thank you to the Cities of Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo for their assistance in hosting this rally. Please dress appropriately for the weather, as the rally will be held outside within the block between Queen and Ontario Streets. We look forward to seeing you on the 28th, and if you haven’t already done so, please add your name to the list of supporters for Waterloo Region to win the 2021 Canada Summer Games at www.werally2021.ca RE: 2021 Canada Summer Games - KevinL - 03-30-2017 The bid has been lost, to Niagara Region. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/waterloo-region-2021-canada-summer-games-1.4047362 RE: 2021 Canada Summer Games - rangersfan - 03-31-2017 I really thought Ottawa was going to win the bid. |
