Renison is in the final stages of completing their new addition on the north-west corner of their campus. The plan is to have the first floor ready to go in the coming weeks with the basement and second floor later this Spring. The exterior is still a work in progress, but it's coming together. The windows in the classrooms and offices are floor to ceiling, which should offer great views of campus once it's all complete.

St. Jerome's is building 2/3 separate buildings at the moment. Their residence structure seems to be going up at a good pace with one half maxed out and the other half catching up. Exterior drywall is going up on the side that's complete as well as the fitness centre on the south side of the residence. The steel structure has been going up for the new Academic / Administration wing at the east side of their property, just across from Health Services.

I have heard a couple rumours that 451 Phillip St (former RIM 8) will be demolished and a retail space will be built there. Has anyone else heard anything?

Seems like an odd place for retail.

It will be adjacent to the LRT stop, and the access to Philip St from the stop needs to be improved anyway.

A fence has been errected up along the front of 451 Phillip st. There are also signs for Melloul Blamey, Waterloo demolition and other contractors on site.

The urban design brief for 258 Sunview refers to a project at 246 Albert and says:

Quote:246 Albert Street: two properties have been consolidated for redevelopment and applications have been approved to permit a 12-storey multi-residential building.

Anyone know anything about this?

I don't have the gis maps available at the moment but the last time I was biking down Albert just down from 228 on the other side multiple houses had come down, so it could be there.

Has anyone seen any details regarding 451 Phillip St? I can't seem to find anything online and yet it would appear that it is going to be a large project.

There is some construction going on near the UW E5 pedestrian bridge. The campus map doesn't show any construction activity happening here so I am not sure what it is related to.

It's replacing an old loading dock area, so I've generally assumed that it's an improved loading dock area. Could alternately be a conversion into more engineering space.

The crane at St. Jerome's came down this morning. The residence has topped out at 8 floors.

There's a crane being built in the vicinity of University/Albert. I'm not sure what it's for yet. I'm seeing it from my work building, some distance away.

There are 13 units for sale in the 255 Keatsway tower. This sounds very much on the high side. Any ideas why so many units for sale?

There are that many units for sale in the42, which has ~55 units total, so I wouldn't say anything is on the high side at this point.

But some of those are still-never-occupied units, are they not?

On Keatsway, it's a whole lot of resale units at the same time.  I wonder whether some investor might own multiple units and is putting them all on the market at the same time?  Or it's just coincidence?
