RE: 345 King St W - tomh009 - 09-22-2017 Nice! The building looks good. Looks like no ground-floor retail but still a nice ground-floor finish with the wall set well back from the sidewalk. There is plenty of ground-floor retail space available within 100m of the building, both across the street and over in Eaton Lofts, so I can accept the lack of retail in this building. From the press release, "345 King West will be a 6 storey, 120,000 SF office building featuring at grade retail space and will be a welcome addition to the King Street streetscape." So now you can be even happier. RE: 345 King St W - MidTowner - 09-22-2017 That looks great. And I think six storeys is very appropriate there. I should have read the press release instead of just looking at the render! Indeed, I'm quite happy with this now! RE: 345 King St W - rangersfan - 09-22-2017 It looks like the project will also consist of the neighbouring property (319-331 king st) RE: 345 King St W - Spokes - 09-24-2017 A perfect fit! RE: 345 King St W - Belmonster - 09-28-2017 From the render, it looks like Rana, Unity Baking, and Golden Turtle are going to be displaced. Anyone know what's likely to happen to those businesses? I hope they don't go far. RE: 345 King St W - jgsz - 09-28-2017 (09-28-2017, 09:12 AM)Belmonster Wrote: From the render, it looks like Rana, Unity Baking, and Golden Turtle are going to be displaced. Rana recently opened a restaurant on University Ave. RE: 345 King St W - goggolor - 09-28-2017 Don't forget about the America Latina market at the back of the building too. Will be interesting to see where they move to. Somewhere on King E, perhaps? This looks perfect ... RE: 345 King St W - rangersfan - 09-28-2017 Hopefully some of those businesses locate in the retail section of this project and setup temporary locations elsewhere. RE: 345 King St W - tomh009 - 09-28-2017 There is also a fair bit of empty retail space directly across King Street, although much of it is in the need of some renovation. RE: 345 King St W - JoeKW - 09-28-2017 I imagine they'll face the same fate on the other side of the street too. Some day, possibly (I suspect those buildings do not merit a heritage designation, though I could be wrong). But I can't see that happening in the next five years, more likely ten. |
