![]() RE: 825 King Street West | 4fl redevelopment | Approved - panamaniac - 08-26-2020 Fairly gentle conversion. RE: 825 King St W redevelopment | 4 fl | Planned - ac3r - 08-27-2020 I have to say, living in a converted church would be really cool. This church on Blvd. St. Laurent in Montreal's Little Italy has been converted to housing. It looks pretty good to me. https://goo.gl/maps/yAkdPyvnP6VWeSKe8 RE: 825 King St W redevelopment | 4 fl | Planned - GtwoK - 01-10-2022 Seems like this is well underway now, noticed construction fencing up around the property and lots of workers onsite while driving past today RE: 825 King St W redevelopment | 4 fl | U/C - tomh009 - 05-21-2022 Current progress: And the latest render: RE: 825 King St W redevelopment | 4 fl | U/C - ac3r - 05-21-2022 I was sneaking around this site earlier today when I was bored and waiting for a train. I had no idea they removed a good portion of the church itself and only kept the walls. Should be interesting to see when it's done and I hope it is successful at offering affordable supportive housing. RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | U/C - SF22 - 03-27-2023 This kind of reminds of the old Alexandra St elementary school that got converted into condos. I wonder if something similar could be done with the church at 32 Weber St West; I believe they were trying to sell that building a few years ago, and the only real bite they had was someone who wanted to turn it into a nightclub, but the church didn't like that and chose not to sell to them. RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | U/C - jshamont - 07-12-2023 Nice photo and article about this project in the Waterloo Region Record ![]() ![]() Starting this fall, St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Kitchener will be transformed into housing that offers 43 tenants a chance to leave homelessness behind, Luisa D’Amato writes Tuesday, July 11, 2023 https://www.therecord.com/news/waterloo-region/this-affordable-housing-project-is-the-real-deal/article_d4c4c246-1c59-54bc-943d-7424cc458528.html RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | U/C - ac3r - 01-19-2024 Not sure if anyone has moved into this project yet (the last post mentions "starting this fall) but it appears to be more or less complete. RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | U/C - jshamont - 01-19-2024 Yes, this is complete and people have started moving in. The architect shared this video a short while ago. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1758398647994419 RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | U/C - Rainrider22 - 01-19-2024 looks great RE: St Mark's Place (825 King St W) | 4 fl | completed - ac3r - 01-20-2024 Looks great indeed. Probably wont after a year or two, sadly... |
