ROW Weather - jeffster - 11-29-2020

Not sure if this is the proper place to post, so mods feel free to move to better spot.

Looks like we're in for some serious weather starting Monday afternoon/evening into Wednesday morning. It will be the 2nd significant snow event of the 2020/2021 winter season. I'm thinking with 2020 being a total write-off, why not give us some crappy weather as well, as we have had it really good the past few years.

To be fair, I wrote off this year back in March. Smile

I need to head out around 8 PM for a little bit so hopefully it don't get too bad before then.

If anyone saw the tornado warnings earlier today, it seems one did touch down in Ayr. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/kitchener-waterloo/tornado-warning-kitchener-waterloo-1.7297580

We will be getting some bone chilling cold starting Sunday.

Natural gas bill is going to be a lot higher this year.

Not for me. I already saved a lot of money with the warm fall. I keep my thermostat down and make my family wear sweaters.... According to my NEST reports, I am always in the top percentage of the area I reside in.... But yes, definitely a lot of people will be surprised when their bill for January comes in. FYI, this is a normal winter in my experience.

I'm still stuck in the heat pump owner transition of being annoyed at my power bill but pleased at my gas bill... I guess next week will be a reversal of that one.

I will be curious to see how your heat pump responds to long term sub minus 15 temperatures. I hope it is worth it for your sake...

The furnace kicks in at -13, but that’s a pretty rare occasion these days.
