The end of the calendar year is a time to look back and think about the past year.  What's your good news story for 2024?

Is there something that happened in Waterloo Region in 2024 that you think deserves a hat tip?

Personally, I think the Boathouse reopening is a piece of good news.

Locally nothing specific for me but a continuation of multi-res development in our cores (although not many starts) is good news

The community's continued attempts to provide at least some basic level of support and dignity for people experiencing addiction, homelessness, etc. It's not nearly enough, and not everyone in the region is onboard (hi, Cambridge!), but compared to many places around Ontario and Canada, we're punching above our weight at social responsibility and taking care of our own.
