670 King St W | 8fl | Proposed - ZEBuilder - 08-15-2025 The property located at 670 King St W is proposed to be redeveloped with an 8 floor apartment building containing a total of 75 units and 253 sqm (~2700 sqft) of commercial space on the ground floor, the site plan indicates 300sqm, the Committee of Adjustment indicates 253. In total the development will have 5 parking spaces, the property is zoned SGA-2 in Kitchener's 2019-051 zoning bylaw meaning it requires no parking at all. These 5 spaces are purely for visitor parking. 670 King is located at the intersection of King St W and Louisa St opposite from The Midtown Lofts. In it's present form it contains a 1 floor commercial building and adjacent parking area. The development is already site plan approved (conditional). I know many are anti car and parking, but having no parking here (or anywhere) doesn't make sense. Maybe they've run the numbers from a business standpoint. I just know I for one wouldn't buy something that I couldn't park my car in. RE: 670 King St W | 8fl | Proposed - panamaniac - 08-16-2025 These would probably be rentals, if it's built. RE: 670 King St W | 8fl | Proposed - bravado - 08-16-2025 If somebody thinks they can sell a unit without parking, they should be able to... they're the ones taking all the risk on the project in the first place. Not everyone does. I don't think you need to be "anti car" to believe that someone should have the choice of whether to own a car and pay for parking, or not. For what it's worth, I live very close to this location. We have good transit, and car share right around the corner, it is very possible to live here without a car. I really hope this gets built, it would be a huge improvement over what is there now. This would be a great addition, more of these 6-8 storey midrises would be fantastic along major corridors RE: 670 King St W | 8fl | Proposed - LesPio - 08-17-2025 Trussler's Esso was a gas station located on this site and it t was owned and operated by Doug Trussler and his family from 1946 until 1980 RE: 670 King St W | 8fl | Proposed - nms - 08-19-2025 From the image above, there are either 5 Visitor spots and 5 other spots, or are the 5 Visitor spots are included in the "5 spots provided" figure. There are only 5 visitor spots. Those spots are included in the total count.
