RE: Thalmic Labs - rangersfan - 11-05-2015 Thalmic is launching an app market. http://m.therecord.com/news-story/6081559-thalmic-launches-app-market-for-myo-armband RE: Thalmic Labs - insider - 11-05-2015 I feel bad for Thalmic. They cannot figure out a business model... I have a feeling they're just waiting to get bought by any of the big ones (like many startups). So much vaporware out there and wasted talent solving problems that only benefit the 0.5% RE: Thalmic Labs - Viewfromthe42 - 09-19-2016 Thalmic now has $135.5 million in funding. http://www.therecord.com/news-story/6864639-thalmic-labs-raises-us-120-million-to-advance-its-vision-for-wearable-technology/ RE: Thalmic Labs - Lens - 09-19-2016 I'd be willing to bet they might take over the upper floors of Schreiter's when they inevitably expand. Maybe even a new build on the parking lot space between their office and Schreiter's! RE: Thalmic Labs - urbd - 09-22-2016 I find it funny that still they don't generate a cent in profit... RE: Thalmic Labs - MidTowner - 09-22-2016 They've only been around for four years, so that doesn't seem too abnormal for a technology company. Most startups don't generate profits because they're focused on growth. Any revenue gained is reinvested into the company. The headquarters will remain on Charles St. http://m.therecord.com/news-story/6912126-thalmic-labs-opening-waterloo-factory-to-make-wearable-tech RE: Thalmic Labs - jamincan - 10-15-2016 Perhaps in the building behind Forbes Chevrolet? RE: Thalmic Labs - Viewfromthe42 - 10-17-2016 It's the building shared with a carpentry/woodworking group, and I believe a restaurant at the west end. It's triangular in shape. Creating a new market like this is incredibly difficult and I hope they succeed. |
