Edit: I don't know why more companies don't do things like this. Its a very small amount of extra effort but I think leaves a relatively big impact on customers.

Presumably those people just call one of the local taxi companies, and get picket up from their own home? The point was that upon landing at YKF, there were always taxis already there, waiting to pick you up.

As of a few years ago, taxi drivers also knew how many people were supposed to get off the train at the Kitchener station from Via Rail.

YKF and the Charles St Bus Terminal are the only two areas that off-duty cabbies can do pickups from.... so there always at least 1 cab waiting at the airport. There is a multitude of them every day for WestJet and American Airlines.
