Doesn't look like a whole lot has changed.

Thanks for the pictures. Man that's slow. You'd almost think its strategic for them? Like they're slow playing it on purpose, but I can't figure out why

Drewlo does their own construction, they don't use an external contractor. It may well be that they are struggling with getting enough skilled trades to work on their projects.

Another Drewlo project is 599 Strasburg and the same concrete company (Riverside Concrete Forming) is working there and it's going just as slow as this one. At most there's 10 workers there on any given day so Riverside is spread to thin or just can't find enough concrete workers.

So why not focus on one then the other?

By way of update - we have just entered the third week in a row with no activity on site (save for security).

I wonder how much the project costs have escalated on this one. Anyone want to hazard a guess when it will be done? my guess is top out beginning of 2024 move in end of 2025.
I'd guess about the same...24 at the earliest. They've had a lot of bad luck on this one. They got started, then the pandemic hit. They kept working but since 1 tower was not yet at grade, they got penalized by the MOL (I think? Maybe MOH) since only residential projects that were at grade were permitted to continue at the start of all of that. Then the supply chains broke down, workers started getting sick, money started drying up. Now they've been hit by inflation, labour shortages and now a strike. I'm probably missing more events but yeah.
Drewlo may not be the best but it was good to see a large project on this side of town but a real shame they kept getting hit with misfortunes. Maybe this end of downtown is just cursed haha...it has always had the reputation of being the seedy, ghetto part of downtown Kitchener where nothing good ever happened (I joke, of course).

This project was almost at grade in a July of 2019. I have never seen the crane moving once. All the concrete already looks weather-beaten. The whole site is dusty and unorganized, it looks mummified lol. Is this a rental? Or, did sales happen prior to digging? You’d think Drewlo would try to finish this quickly to start recouping costs/rent. Really bizarre
