The Hasty Market founder was Joe Farah in 1981. Any relation to the owners of Farah Foods, or just a coincidence?

Same person (or family, as it may be). They founded and own Farah's Food Mart, Hasty Market, Mini-Mart and now MarketOn. Immigrants originally from Nazareth, they now live in the Hamilton area.

New retail has landed from Quebec! Kalemart24 (at Civic 66, Weber/Scott) has a focus on healthy foods, includes premium chocolate (not Lindt) selection and a variety of gelato and non-dairy “ice creams”. Plus a variety of fresh sandwiches as well. Overall, it’s somewhere between a high-end depanneur and a Japanese konbini.

Hope they will be successful!
