Curious to know how many LRV sets fit inside the maintenance building? At which point do they start sleeping outside?

There's the two maintenance bays and I think one other plain track, or maybe two. No more than four, definitely.

I’m pretty sure each track can hold two inside. So possibly as many as eight. I don’t think we’re going to need another maintenance facility for a long time. I hope we’ll need more storage before too long though!

If playing Tetris, you could probably fit a 9th sideways across the track used to move bogies around between the bays, but I have no clue how you'd rotate the LRV 90 degrees in the very confined space.

They can hold 12 LRV's under roof in the current configuration. They talked about this during the first open house; in a bad snowstorm, 2 will be out running the other line, and the other 12 can all be brought indoors, if required. 9 in the OMSF, 2 in the Car Wash, and 1 in the Wayside facility.
(I know it looks like they could fit 3 on each track in the OMSF, but no - because the tracks don't go all the way to the wall.)

So I did remember the number of tracks, I just failed to realize how long they were! Thanks for the diagram, Iain.

I can't figure out why they didn't add crossing signals and gates here. The traffic on Regina (and Erb/Caroline if the train's long enough) gets hung out to dry while they sneak up on King and send the flagman out... I guess it was a question of preserving King's character???

The crossbucks were there before the construction, I don't see why they haven't been put back.

As of about 9:45am:

#wrLRT LRV 504 getting ready to move to the OMSF for offloading. There is a derail device set at Northfield, though. pic.twitter.com/Vd7GZhGg5w
— ? Iain Hendry ? The fire trucks were in the OMSF yard, so I assume unloading is happening right about now.

The rail crossing of King Street has never had any crossing arms, it has always been by flag person.

Just thinking more about the situation at he OMSF today. The derail device was clamped on the tracks just north of Northfield, which would prevent them from moving the LRV, parked at the siding about 1km North. There were four vehicles from different agencies parked at the LRV.
What I wonder: normally, the derail device is placed here for the weekend, along with one just South of Waterloo Town Square. So, what if someone threw this on, as normal, after last night’s train, not knowing that it would hamper an LRV offloading today?
If so, they’ll need to track down who has the key to remove it. If an offloading doesn’t happen later today (ie, now), perhaps they’ll try and do it on OT tomorrow? Or, wait for next week?

That freight locomotive is apparently being used as part of the commissioning process for the track between Northfield and Erb/Caroline.

I swung by the OMSF. Crews are staging and the ramp and robot are ready to rock! Looks like a night unloading is about to happen!
