I noticed a sandwich board out this week at 235 King St E, the office building across from New City Supermarket, for "Nan's Eatery". Is this something new or has there always been a café there? I've never had occasion to go into that building.

Any news about the future of Imbibe? I see that their fund-raising campaign is at $13,000 - far below the target of $75,000. I could see more contributions coming in if a new location were confirmed.

The "Outlaw Food Truck Picnic" will take place on Sunday, May 24th from noon to 7pm in Civic Centre Park (between CITS and the KCL). There will be 15 food trucks, 5 bands, and other entertainment. The weather forecast seems promising - 22C and partly cloudy.

Hopefully someone as talented as Jeff Ward will have no problem finding another location in which to ply his trade.

When you're actually inside then the decor was fine, but on the outside it never looks like it's open. I don't really know how this works. in particular how you get repeat customers versus people looking for novelty. Presumably repeat customers might be less put off by the metal front. I would say it's more odd because they already have a location at the boardwalk.

I find South St. Burger to be quite simply a "Harvey's on steroids" in restaurant design and in prices $$. P.S. You can't get a hot dog there even if I don't ever want one

The food is quite a bit better than Harvey's as well. The only similarity is that both allow you to customize your burger.

I will second that. South Street has good burgers, maybe a little greasy, but delicious. As well, you can order from two different patty sizes, which is a plus.

I always leave that place disappointed. It feels like a poor knock off of Five Guys.
