Avalon Place Highway 7/8 Multi-Use Trail Crossing
Quote:The Region has built a pedestrian/cycle bridge that will be placed across Highway 7/8 to improve access and active transportation in the area. The bridge will be lifted and placed across the highway between the Fischer Hallman Rd and Homer Watson Blvd interchanges. It is necessary to close Highway 7/8 while the bridge is being put into place.

Lane closures on Highway 7/8 will begin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, moving into a full closure starting at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday, August 25.

Chandler Drive, between Woodfern Court and Strasburg Road, will also require a brief closure of a few hours on August 24 to get equipment in place.

Highway 7/8 will reopen with a single lane on Sunday, August 25 before midnight. All lanes will fully open by Monday, August 26 at 5 a.m.
