Have ya'll ever lived in Montréal? Mom n pop landlords are pretty based. I think most people would prefer renting from some down-to-earth people who rent out half a duplex or a converted basement, rather than greedy capitalist slumlords like Vive Development or any of the new, similar local property developers/managers. Or Chinese or Saudi "investors" who can buy up entire city blocks and huge multi-residential towers.
