And again, you have not sought to find out if anyone here (or on Reddit) has contacted the region. YOU are the one who is "just complaining" without even checking.
Honestly, it's not that big a deal, you can just own it, and have a moment of self reflection...
Also, as an aside, reaching out to one's councillor is not really a sustainable option. You should have reached out to the city bylaw management who manage this kind of issue.
